how things look different at home

A prenatal visit at home doesn't start with a waiting room, a clipboard, or fifteen minutes on the clock. It starts on your couch, often with your other children nearby or your dog settling in beside us. Visits run an hour or more, not because there's more to check, but because there's more time to actually talk. Labs happen right there with you, no separate errand, no second stop. When an ultrasound is needed, we coordinate that for you with a local provider we trust.

Houses are houses. We live in one too, unfolded laundry, toys scattered across the floor, dishes still in the sink. We sit in the rawness of real life, because that's where real people actually live, and it is an honor to be let into it. Nothing about your home needs to be ready for us. You never need to apologize for the mess before we walk in.

our prenatal care philosophy

Prenatal care with Malta looks at the whole picture. Physical, emotional, and mental, because all of it shapes how you experience this season. Early in your care, you’ll receive a full handbook built specifically for your pregnancy, walking with you through every trimester, birth, and the weeks that follow, yours to keep and return to. And every visit is part of something bigger than a checklist: decision-making in labor doesn’t start in labor. It is a muscle built with practice long before a single contraction, so that by the time birth arrives, you’ve already spent months learning to trust your own voice.

“Shiane spent an hour with me on my first visit discussing my pregnancy, worries, concerns, and desires. I felt so heard and welcome from day one. She included me in decisions of care and explained everything thoroughly.”
